PEDIATRIC REHAB CENTER
The Outpatient Pediatric Rehabilitation Suite for Boulder Community Health’s Erie, Colorado facility was designed to assist therapists connect and successfully provide medical services in a clinic providing therapies to children with physical, sensory, motor, language, and cognitive disorders or developmental delays. Special considerations and unique detailing of customized sound attenuation measures successfully solved the staff’s concern regarding patient sensitivities to sound and light that led to disruptions in therapies at the clinic’s prior location. The materials and finishes within the clinic were chosen carefully to address a high level of abuse, yet are inviting and playful for young patients. Specialty spaces within the clinic included three large therapy gyms, private observation spaces with audio and visual connections to two separate treatment rooms, specialty equipment storage, aide and cleaning stations, and a variety of specialized treatment rooms. Each of the specialized treatment rooms and large therapy gym spaces were designed with a series of heavy-duty in-ceiling hook support systems that can be adapted for variations of therapy equipment and treatments.
