ORTHOPEDIC & PHYSICAL THERAPY

The merging of two orthopedic and sports medicine practices in Boulder concluded with the opening of a new medical office and physical therapy suite on the second floor of a new three-story building in Boulder, Colorado. The design team worked closely with a dedicated team of surgeons, physical therapists, and administrative staff to address needs for each area of the clinic, while successfully combining standard operations from each practice.The orthopedic and physical therapy areas were designed to increase efficiency for both patients and medical staff within patient areas including exam rooms, procedure rooms, three X-ray suites, specialty therapy areas, and a large physical therapy gym. Dedicated employee spaces like a secure locker room, large break room, and conference room provide private retreat spaces for staff, while maintaining proximity to patient care areas. While the physical therapy suite can be isolated from the medical office to allow for extended and personalized hours of operation, the administrative and back-of-house spaces are shared to maximize patient care spaces.
