Peter E. Heinz

Principal, AIA

Received his Bachelor of Environmental Design and Master of Architecture from the University of Colorado at Boulder in the mid seventies. In the ensuing thirty years, PEH has participated and successfully completed a wide variety of architectural and planning projects. Since founding the sole proprietorship, work has focused on renovation of existing and design of new educational facilities, disabled accessibility review and implementation, program planning for educational facilities, municipal facilities such as fire stations and libraries, and recycling existing residential projects for Boulders changing demographics.

Chris Mirto

Senior Project Architect, AIA, LEED AP

Received his Bachelor of Environmental Design from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1999. During his time at CU, he volunteered at the campus chapter of Habitat for Humanity, and was involved in both field work and staffing the on-campus office. Chris has been employed at PEH since the summer of 1998, when he assumed the lead role in model production in the office. Since joining the team full-time, he has taken on numerous other responsibilities, including construction document drafting, shop drawing coordination and record keeping. Additionally, he has successfully managed projects through the City of Boulder's extensive design review/entitlement process.

Erin Gambacorta

Sr. Project Manager, Assoc. AIA

Erin received her Bachelor’s of Fine Arts, with a concentration in Architecture, from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2005, and later went on to receive a Masters of Architecture in 2006. Following graduation, Erin was employed for several years at a high-end residential firm in Charleston, SC where she was involved with all phases of the architectural design process for projects spanning the East Coast. After returning to Colorado in 2009, Erin remained active in the design community while also volunteering with elementary-level after school educational programs, and enrolling in several continuing education courses. Erin’s hands on experience and close attention to detail have proven valuable in schematic design, review submittals, and construction document creation. Nearing the completion of the IDP, Erin is eager to start the process of becoming a licensed architect.

Mari Blaser

Designer, Assoc. AIA

Mari  developed her skills in architectural and engineering construction technology as well as computer-aided drafting at Front Range Community College in Westminster, Colorado. She also studied architecture at Kent State University in Ohio where she spent a semester studying abroad in Florence, Italy. While in Italy she studied the use of historic design concepts and techniques in modern architecture and historic preservation within modern urban planning. She enjoys studying historic preservation and researching sustainable design and urban planning. In addition to using CAD and Revit she also loves to hand draft. At PEH she uses a multitude of computer software to create documents and presentations. She is detail oriented, which aids in the creation of presentations and project packets. She is also passionate about photography, sustainable construction techniques, and sensitive historic preservation.

Nathan Pillatzke

Senior Project Architect, AIA

Graduated with a Bachelor’s of Architecture from North Dakota State University in 2001. While attending NDSU, Nathan worked for Bruce Hella Architectural Studio (BHAS) prior to joining the PEH team in 2001. It was not long before Nathan was managing the client and engineering coordination on the design and construction of our front range renovation and planning projects. His proficiency in establishing design goals, coordination of design and knowledge of construction has made for a successful addition to the team. Nathan excels in historic preservation, restoration and renovation and is our key associate when called in for forensic building analysis. In addition to his strong base of technical knowledge, Nathan continues to manage a variety of residential, commercial, and institutional design and planning projects throughout the front range.

Justin Price

Sr. Project Manager, Assoc. AIA, LEED AP

Justin graduated from the University of Colorado - Boulder with his Bachelors of Environmental Design in 2002. Upon completion he furthered his studies by obtaining his Masters Degree in Architecture from the University of Colorado at Denver in 2004. Since graduating Justin has worked with a couple of Colorado firms gaining experience in creating Construction Documents for Multifamily Projects in Arizona, California, and Colorado. He also has worked on several small retail and office projects in Colorado performing such tasks as city submittals, CD packages, and shop drawing coordination.

Joshua Zinnecker

Project Manager, BIM Director, Assoc. AIA

Joshua received a Bachelor's of Environmental Design in Architecture from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 2015. His studies focused on sustainable and green building practices. Joshua is proficient in Sketch-Up, Rhino and Revit, along with other building modeling and rendering software programs. Prior to joining PEH, Joshua worked on projects involving Boulder County and the University of Colorado, including the Hawthorne Garden redesign and Boulder Civic Center. In his work with PEH, Joshua’s role involves a mix of drafting, design and management roles on a wide range of commercial and residential projects along the Front Range. Joshua excels in providing comprehensive care to his projects, from initial design concepts, consolidating ideas and concepts into construction drawings, and submitting projects for review and approval. Joshua is dutifully involved in the AXP process on his path to licensure.

Nick Brown

Designer, Assoc. AIA

Nick graduated from University of Colorado with a bachelors in Environmental Design with an emphasis on Architecture. He plans on following through with a Masters in Architecture. Nick has worked as a drafter for military companies, including Boeing, as a civilian contractor. Nick excels in AutoCAD and Revit, with expertise in Photoshop. While continually strengthening and learning new architectural skills, Nick provides an organized and efficient approach to preparing construction documents for the residential and commercial tenant finish projects he coordinates.
